This tutorial can install the iPhone newest version to the iPad / iPad 2 with the current newest version iOS 5.0.1

iPad do not have apps and not allow to install Whatsapp and can’t be found in iTunes Store.

The first things you need is an Jailbroken iPad 2.

Jailbreak iPad 2 with iOS 5.0.1

Download iPhone Configuration Utility

Follow here to download the iPhone Configuration Utility.

Buy WhatsApp Messenger

You have to buy the original WhatsApp Messenger in iTunes. Purchase it, only USD 0.99. Cheaper than your monthly SMS cost.

After purchase, the WhatsApp Messenger icon will be available in your iTunes.

Run iPhone Configuration Utility

After you download the iPhone Configuration Utility, install it, and run it.

Open your iTunes Media Folder, if you don’t know where is the location, you can get from here.

Drag the file \iTunes Music\Mobile Applications\WhatsApp 2.6.9.1272.ipa to the iPhone Configuration Utility .

Connect your iPad

Plug in your iPad with USB cable, the PC will detect your iPad automatically.

Install Whatsapp to iPad

Click on your iPad Device, and the Menu bar there with Applications.

Drag down to the bottom…

You can see the WhatsApp with an Install button

Click Install.

It will install to your iPad.

Install WhatsPad using Cydia

As early I’ve told that need a Jailbreak iPad 2 device, so you can install the WhatsPad from Cydia.

Search for WhatsPad in Cydia and install it.

Run WhatsApp in iPad for the first time

You no need a 3G or Sim card iPad device to run this software. For the first time, you need to active it, just tap in your Phone Numbers and Done.

WhatsApp will send you a 3 digits number to your current active mobile phone.

Then key in the 3 digits, to WhatsApp in the iPad then will be activate in your iPad.

Missing of the iconv.dll

The main problem is the missing of the iconv.dll. So, we could download and put it to the same folder with the program you would like to run.

You can download from two places.

Installing the iconv.dll

After download the file, libiconv-1.9.1.bin.woe32.zip extract it then open using 7-zip or other winzip / winrar. Drag your file to the folder like below.

From C:\Users\Juz\Downloads\libiconv-1.9.1.bin.woe32.zip\

To C:\Program Files (x86)\iPhone Configuration Utility\

Then your software can run without problem.

Step to Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 with iPad 2 / iPhone 4s

Download Jailbreak

You have to download the newest version Absinthe 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak For Windows that could be found from here.

The link file would be absinthe-win-0.2.zip. If you received corrupted file you may try download using Flashget or other downloader.

Extract the file on your Desktop.
Then you can see absinthe.exe.

This version is very easy, you do not need to turn off your iPad 2 / iPhone 4s, you just have to plug the USB cable, and it will detect your iDevice automatically.

Once detected, it will show

iPad with iOS 5.0.1 (9A405) detected. Click the button to begin.

and the Jailbreak button will be enable. If cannot detect, make sure you download the newest iTune and install it.

 

Time to start Jailbreak

Once click the Jailbreak button, please do not touch your iPad 2 / iPhone 4s and leave it run. It will restart your iDevice for one time at the end. It will take around 5 minutes. Just be patient.

Step to finish Jailbreak

After install finish, it will be an Green icon appear on your iPad would look like this

Tap on it and run it, I will continue to Jailbreak until appear the Cydia appear on your iPad 2 / iPhone 4s.

Since the newest version of iOS do have iCloud, all the things we need to do is just transfer your contacts to iCloud. Then you won’t be data lost or lost contact if your iPhone / iPad missing.

This is a How-to for some people that do not sync their contacts to Google, and storing their contacts in Phone Only.

Export Contacts from Android Device

• Tap the Contacts icon on your Android Device.
• Tap the Menu button of your Android Device
• The bottom will come out “Search, New Contact, Account, Import/Export …”
• Choose the Import/Export
• Export to SDcard.
• Confirm Export.
• The vCard ( 0001.vcf ) file will store to your SDcard.

Transfer Contacts to PC

Plugin your USB cable or plug your SDcard to your PC, copy the 0001.vcf file to your Desktop or My Documents.

Import to iCloud

• You can access your iCloud from any browser that have internet connection. This make everything easier. If you do not have iCloud account, you can register one from there.
• Login to your iCloud account, with your username and password.
• Click on the big Contacts icon
• The bottom there have a small gear icon.
• Click it and access to Import vCard.

So, choose the 0001.vcf that you export just now, into your iCloud.

Reason to use this way

• I’m using this way, because no need to use Microsoft Outlook or Windows Contact, since the iCloud can sync direct from Outlook only in PC.
• Some people do not sync their contact to Google Contacts.
• Export to vcf can make another backup for your contacts too.
